Our internet service went down around 1:30 AM this morning and we are finally back on line as of around 4:30 PM this afternoon.  Our website weather data should be updating once again.

Goose Lake Weather data is updating once again as of 8:30 AM this morning. Our internet service went out at approximately 9 PM last evening and has now been restored.

I made some changes to the Goose Lake Weather mobile weather page for display on your cell or PDA. Hopefully it will look better now. Some other changes are likely.  Now you can check out the weather at Goose Lake when away from home. As always, comments/suggestions appreciated.

I hope to make some major changes to the look and feel of the web site by the end of the summer. Stay tuned…

I’m now streaming the NOAA All hazards weather radio broadcast from WXK-24 originating from Odell, IL and broadcasting information for Grundy and surrounding counties. There is a slight delay. This is provided as a service but should not be relied upon as your sole source of weather radio information. For this you should purchase a NOAA weather radio. This is the best way to get advanced warning of impending severe weather. If you’ve never heard of NOAA weather radio here is an excerpt from the NOAA weather radio website:

“Saving lives is the focus of NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards by providing immediate broadcasts of severe weather warnings and civil emergency messages and giving those in harm’s way critical lead time to respond and remain safe. Broadcasts of tornado warnings, flood warnings, AMBER Alerts, chemical spill messages and many other notifications, in addition to routine weather observations and forecasts, make NOAA Weather Radio an essential item for every home, business and public area.”

The forecast is currently unavailable from our site due to problems at the NWS. The problems are expected to be fixed soon. In the meantime you can get the forecast here.

A new webcam has been added to the web page. I’m using an Axis webcam and I’m happy with the results. I’m still experimenting with the camera and displaying the images on the web page so you may see changes in the coming weeks.
