Goose Lake Weather on your PDA

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

I made some changes to the Goose Lake Weather mobile weather page for display on your cell or PDA. Hopefully it will look better now. Some other changes are likely.  Now you can check out the weather at Goose Lake when away from home. As always, comments/suggestions appreciated.

I hope to make some major changes to the look and feel of the web site by the end of the summer. Stay tuned…

Lake Breeze

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

A refreshing lake breeze moved over the station from Lake Michigan between 6 and 7 PM this evening.  The temperature dropped about 7 degrees after the lake breeze passage. The lake breeze is shown by the narrow band of reflectivity on the radar image. The change in direction from northwest to northeast and drop in temperature can be seen in the graph.

First 90° Day of the Season

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

Today we hit 90° for the first time this season. Unfortunately the humidity has increased as well with the heat index topping out around 100 this afternoon. Strong southerly winds continue to pump in moisture laden air setting the stage for thunderstorms…possibly severe…later tonight. Heavy rainfall and flooding will also be a significant threat overnight.

A long lived supercell spawned 6 tornadoes Saturday afternoon including one that formed only 11 miles southeast of the Goose Lake Weather location.
