3.8 Magnitude Earthquake recorded in north central IL – revised

A 4.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded around 3:59 AM this morning centered about 5 miles east of Sycamore, IL.

Update: the USGS has revised their findings to estimate a 3.8 earthquake based on new data.

    first of all, the USGS which you have linked to, clearly indicates this was a 3.8 magnitude, not a 4.3 as you have stated. Also, the epicenter was near Pingree Grove, not Sycamore.

    Thanks Jonathon. The USGS revised their initial estimate based on new data. A common procedure.
